Eddie Bauer Holdings has announced three appointments: Marv Toland has been named senior vice president/chief financial officer; Freya R. Brier was appointed senior vice president/general counsel and secretary, and Ronn Hall was hired as senior vice president of sourcing and supply chain. Toland joins Eddie Bauer from London Fog Group, where he most recently served as executive vice president/chief financial officer. Brier had been general counsel of Wild Oats Markets. Hall comes to Bauer from Coldwater Creek, where he served as vice president of sourcing and production.
Charming Shoppes has promoted Tim White to executive vice president/chief marketing officer. White joined Charming Shoppes in 2006 as senior vice president, marketing, and will continue to report to chairman/CEO/president Dorrit J. Bern. The Bensalem PA-based firm also announced it has consolidated the management of its marketing functions for its retail brands into a new corporate marketing group.

Discovery Communications has promoted Patrick Gates to president/general manager of Discovery Commerce. Gates most recently served as interim president/general manager of the division for the Silver Spring, MD-based company; he joined Discovery in 2005 as executive vice president/general manager of the consumer direct unit of commerce.
QVC, a multimedia retailer based in West Chester, PA, has hired Claire Watts as president. Watts has held senior merchandising and product roles at The Limited and Lands' End; she most recently served as executive vice president of merchandising for Wal-Mart.
New York-based teen apparel merchant Delia's has hired Oona McSweeney as director of trend and color for the Delia's brand. Before joining Delia's, McSweeney, who will report to CEO Robert Bernard, had been director of trend and color for the Limited Too division of Tween Brands.
